Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) has donated computers and other assorted ICT equipment worth Sh4.3 million to Njiru-ini Secondary School.
The donations included 20 desktop computers, 2 printers, and a sponsorship of Internet connectivity provision for one year.
Speaking during the handover ceremony recently, CA Chairman Ngene Gituku said ICTs have now occupied the centre stage of human progress and as such, ICT skills must be made available to young people at their formative stages in life.
The donation is part of CA’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme and is in line with the Authority’s wider mandate of enhancing access to ICTs in various parts of the country.
ICT Cabinet Secretary, Joseph Mucheru, who presided over the event, encouraged the students to make proper use of the facilities that have the potential of changing their lives.
