Parents have been asked to allow their children to choose own careers without coercion.
National Education Board Chairman, Erastus Kiugu said parents should not limit choices of their children in identifying future careers or box them into a corner and demand they pursue “more sophisticated” careers like medicine, engineering and law among others.
Kiugu who was the chief guest during the commissioning of a swimming pool at Ongata Royal Academy in Kajiado North Sub-County, commended the school for putting up the pool as it will improve performance in co-curricular activities.
Director of the Academy, Richard Mathu said the pool will enable the school achieve its aim of producing the best swimmer to represent the country at the international level.
