The county government will employ more Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) teachers in the next Financial Year.
Governor Samuel Wamathai also announced that the government will backdate their payment to last July with each getting a top-up of Sh5,000 month. The top-up adds up to between Sh40,000 and 50,000 each.
After the employment, he said, their payment will be factored in the next budget and put in the regular payroll.
“We have got about 800 nursery school teachers in the county. We could have employed them earlier but there was a court petition but now the petition is over and so we are taking over their employment,” Wamathai said recently.
