Head teachers have been urged to exercise high degree of transparency and accountabilitywhile discharging their duties.
County Education Board Chairman, Zachary Waita said teachers play crucial role in ensuring that children move successfully from one level of development to the next as well-rounded individuals.
“The country’s rapid development need educated Kenyans who will be responsible of designing, planning and implementing development projects,” he said, adding that teachers must therefore take the task of educating and nurturing children seriously.
Waita who spoke during the recent Kenya Secondary School Heads Association (KESSHA) Kirinyaga County Annual Conference held in Mombasa also warned teachers againstembezzling school funds.
