Bishop: Akorino students discriminated in schools

By Staff Reporter

Akorino children in the county face discrimination and  persecution  by teachers, a Bishop has claimed. Speaking during a prayer meeting in Njabini Stadium, Bishop Jeremia Kariuki said a student at Kianjata Secondary School in Ol Joro Orok has dropped out after the Head teacher told him he could not stay in school with a turban.

On reaching the Principal for a comment, he said the student was not kicked out but could not comment more, saying he was not in a position to speak since he was in a meeting. However, the parent of the student said the boy had gone back to school and had been allowed to wear the turban.
