Hunger keeps over 800 children out of school

More than 800 nursery and primary school children in Ganze Sub-County are out of school due to the escalating hunger in the region.
Statistics show that the worst affected areas are Bamba Ward with 367 children, followed by Vitengeni location in Sokoke Ward with 250 children and finally Ganze Ward with 195 children.
Speaking at the Ganze Deputy County Commissioner’s office during an education stakeholders meeting recently, Ganze Sub-County Deputy Director of Education Omar Borua said out of the 812 children 455 are boys and 357 are girls.
