Give children equal rights to education, parents told

Parents of physically challenged children have been asked not to deny them the opportunity to access education.
A Human Rights activist in Kangundo Sub-County, Chris Kyalo said that some pupils with special needs have been locked out of school system by parents who view them as problematic.
He said education is now a basic right under the Constitution and the government has done its part by setting up special schools and training teachers to handle children with disabilities.
“It’s only fair for parents to take this advantage,” Kyalo noted during a meeting with leaders of disabled children in the sub-county in Kangundo town recently.
