County urged to promote Arts education

The County government and secondary schools in the region have been asked to help the youth embrace arts.
Kitui Mzalendo Arts and Cultural Centre Patron, Bishop Charles Kaloki asked Governor, Julius Malombe to create an art centre in the county “because Kitui is known for art.”
The cleric who spoke during the 4th Kitui Annual Multimedia Art Contest 2017 held recently at Wikililye market in Katulani area also asked secondary schools to start art classes for the good of art in the region.
The contest was organised by an American philanthropist, Martha Jalbert and Kitui Mzalendo Arts and Cultural Centre.
The Centre Co-ordinator, Gideon Mukula Shem said they currently have a class of 76 children studying art. – Boniface Mulu
